Jannetty vs Vector tunes

I'm looking at getting my car tuned in the near future but I can't decide between these two.

I have an L99 and I would like to have the TM turned down when in S mode (not turned off, just turned down) and AFM turned off. I know Vector turns down the TM but does Ted do this as well?

Besides the obvious cost difference are there any other big differences between these two?

The mods I'll have when I do this are CAI, Vmax TB, and complete exhaust including lt headers.

Any help or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I can't speak for Vector, but Ted is highly respected here in the Northeast. When I'm ready, I will be going to Ted.

Vector likes to lock the ECM so if you ever want someone else to tune it down the road you have to mail it in to them at your expense to have it unlocked. Theres been a few stories of it on here and I think its pretty ridiculous.

I would say go with whoever has the best support even after you purchase the tune which can be more important than the initial tune service and purchase.

Both will work. Vector is alot more indepth since he breaks into the coding himself. I've had Vector change stuff in my personal A6 car that no other tuning software or tuner could do.

With SCT you Purchase and Own the device, which loads tunes and returns to stock, it datalogs, it reads and clears codes, it can store up to 3 custom tune files to switch between.

The First Tune is FREE for Simple Bolt ons.

I do NOT Lock YOUR tunes you purchased them, and you should not be Locked out of your own computer.

SCT is the BEST Tuning solution I have ever worked with and I have them ALL.

Last count I am approaching 580 10/11 CAMARO Tunes on top of my Vast Tuning portfolio.

I run a Program, purchase your parts from me and tunes for those parts are FREE.

Say bye to Costly Tune upgrades each time you add a part that requires tuning.

I would be happy to discuss your Tuning and performance Needs.

Feel Free to call or email me.

Ted.

I don't have personal experience with Vector, although I've heard they're excellent! I can however tell you that Ted Jannetty has been outstanding with after purchase support! He and his staff are proffessional and very responsive! I can call and talk to Ted any time or e-mail him with tune requests or just technical advise. He almost immediatly replies and is patient and seems to truly care! HE actually called ME today to discuss some datalogs I sent him and had questions. After we talked he had a tune adjustment e-mailed to me within the hour! Thanks Ted for your hard work and I highly recommend JRE!

How does SCT compare to the full suites like HP and EFI? Do you have all the same parameters like MAF and all the modifier tables for open loop fueling, timing, idle and cam phasing? If all that is there then that would be a nice solution for people that wanted a custom tune with their own device to flash and log, withou having to tune themselves.

SCT has Access to More tables than any other software on the market, I compare them regularly.

I do Remote Tuning all over the World Via SCT and Email.

I've dealt a bit with Ted, so here goes my opinion/experiences.

His tunes are pretty spot on. Being a car n00b i dont know what he does with them exactly but whatever it is, it worked with my combination of mods.

As far as getting adjustments for free with his parts, I've always found better deals on parts from other vendors so i havent bought any parts thru JRE. But his tunes were good enough for me to purchase an adjustment tune from him after more mods.

As far as customer service, i have mixed experiences. Ive tried a couple of times to get ahold of him on the phone, and recently i was rudely turned away by a guy on his staff. but whatever. He did however personally call me one time i was having some issues with a local dyno and some disappointing dyno results, and was very helpful.

Ted responds very promptly to his messages and always gives a straight answer. And he will also send out a tune very quickly after requesting one.

I highly recommend JRE for your tuning needs. You wont be disappointed!
