Ok CARB experts, help me out...

What can I do exhaust/performance wise that will still make me carb legal? I have a C.A.I that I'm about to install. I'm pretty sure LT's are out of the question huh?

Damn! I thought you were going to ask about a problem with a carburetor.

I believe the only things you can modify for sure are your air intake and anything after the catalytic converters and remain CARB legal. There are some shorty headers out there that are CARB legal and they should advertise this fact if they are. Doug Thorley shorty headers are one example.

Edelbroks supercharger is carb legal. You can go cat back exhaust from what I understand. K&N cold air is also. The tuners will take you out of compliance but that is easy and only takes minutes to reverse.

LT's and mids are out of the question, as they change the stock location of the cats.

With CAI's I believe that anything before the MAF sensor is legal...although any CAI can be switched back to stock relatively easily when you get it smogged...

Edelbrock Echarger is CARB approved, and I think the Maggie is too.

Catbacks are all legal, as long as they retain OEM cats...but then again, most smog places won't know what OEM cats look like for the visual inspection.
