At lest yours is built!

I have read so much about people who have not received their cars yet, but at lest they have a VIN and a car (out there somewhere). I placed my order on the morning of October 16, and the car has not been built yet (its sitting at 3400 for a week now). I am one of those who wanted a low VIN number so I could put the car in the shop and drive it around the block every other sunday and wait for it to become a true classic. But OH NO, Leave it to GM to screw up the line and build all over the place and then build every dealer a car to boot. Whenever GM decides to build my car, I bet there will be a lower VIN car sitting on the showroom floor.

I feel your pain. I ordered in the morning of the first day and I am still at 1100.

Does the VIN really matter that much?
Keep the Car in good shape, don't mess it up with a ton of Mods and it will be a classic either way.

I've been at 3400 for 17 days now (since 21 Mar)...so I know what you mean...yep, even ordered in Oct!

I was #1 at the dealer, they had 13 allocations...thought for sure I'd be under 1,000 for a VIN...2500 at least!

I have no plan to garage the Camaro though as I will have her out everyday...she'll be my daily driver!

If you wanted alow VIN you should have gone to a large dealer on the 13th of October. I wanted one, but realizd that I would rather get the car ASAP and went to my local guy...now I have a VIN. We all know more now than we did then, nobody knows how these things are going to pan out when there is a new car being produced...

But if this situation arises again, we are good to go. Relax, your car will come, and if you treat the thing right it can be a collectors car even with a higher VIN.

Unless you got lucky, or connected to get a car with a VIN under 100, the actual VIN sequence number doesn't matter too much. As for collectability....I don't count on these new cars being valued like the first generation 1969's anyway. Buy it, drive it, and enjoy it!!

It's not a big surprise that GM, for marketing reasons in the big picture, didn't build all the pre-orders first. It just would have been nice to see first 2000 cars go to those that followed the development of this car so closely, and made the first initial commitment for an order before other interests took over.
