went to dealer they told me NO CARS would even be seen until may 5th even if thay got one nobody would be able to see it!!!!!! criswell in Maryland

Threaten to have it drop shipped to another dealer who will get the sale. Or just cancel the order. Simple as that.

If your pre-order comes in before then, yes, you should and probably will get your car. If you are planning on seeing one that is not yours at a dealership, you're out of luck. GM really wants everybody to follow suit with this unveiling deal. I know we're gonna have it in the showroom roped off with a cover on it until that day (except for when I drive it).

Actually, Fritz Henderson wants these cars out now. That's why shipping commenced when it did. Plus, from a business point of view, it would be smart to get a few on the roads prior to the unveiling at the dealerships. The hype seeing them around town is worth more than any advertising could ever generate. Unless GM holds the invoices, which is not likely to happen, the dealer can do what they want. The unveiling doesn't even have to happen if the dealers want to back out. GM cannot regulate this as each dealer is it's own entity and makes its business decisions as it sees fit. Hence the reason some dealers are charging over MSRP and some are not. The only thing GM can do to prevent you from getting your car is not send it to the dealer.
Let's please end this thread. I can't stand GM bashing anymore. Every damn site I go on is all GM this and GM that. I thought I would be safe from it here, but then every now and then we get one of these posts.

NOT EVEN MY DEALER JUST STOPPED IN WHILE AT WORK. BUT THE WAY IT SOUNDED TO ME NONE OF US TILL MAY 5!!!!! THINK THAT SUCKS
