Test drove challenger SRT-8

Well i went to my local dodge dealership because i was interested in taking a look at the challenger because ive heard how great it was and all from everybody and all my friends...

So i went there and talked to the salesman who didnt know jack sh!t about the challenger, but said i could look at it all i wanted to, so i got the keys from him and went over to it and started checking it out, i went to turn on the radio and it didnt work. I asked the salesman and he said they blew a the radio fuse the day before when they were playing around with the stereo, which sucked for me b/c i really wanted to hear the sound system in the challengers. but anyways i decided i wanted to test drive it and the the salesman agreed and we went for a test drive, after messing around for a little bit in the car i finally asked him if i could open it up and see what it could do on the highway, the salesman agreed and we took it to the highway and opened her all the way up, i didnt think that it was very impressive at all, i was expecting a little bit more of a push from it, and i felt like i was driving a brick the entire time...so all in all i was not impressed with the new challengers at all.

It is a hawt looking car though. I love them. Have not driven one yet, and will wait til somebody I know gives me the keys.

After dealing with Chrysler on my Jeep Commander, they will NOT be getting any checks from me.

Kinda disapointing as the Callenger SRT8 should be as fast as the Camaro. The camparisons as far as numbers was the Camaro SS and the Chally srt. And the SRT didn't finish all that far behind the Camaro SS. So if you weren't impressed with the 'push' of the SRT8 then you may not be impressed with the Camaro either.

I'm not expecting to be too impressed with the Camaro in stock form. What I'm really getting it for is the aftermarket potential. My SRT4 (yeah, laugh) is pretty quick, mostly because it's light. I'm not expecting to be blown away by the speed of the stock Camaro, but the potential it has to be modded greatly exceeds my current car, and that's what makes me drool in anticipation! Plus the RWD platform is just better.

Truthfully, I just want it to be easily faster than Bonnies Lexus IS350. I want it to feel obviously more powerful. And the Lexus can put you in your seat back a bit.

It won't be a whole lot better as far as acceleration. Just feel better in the steering wheel.

The SRT8 challenger in the automatic is geared 3.06 this has alot to do with why you where not impressed. Maybe you need to drive the six speed they are geared 3.90
