supercharged g35 vs bolt on ss
got to take a ride in a supercharged 2004 infinity g35 yesterday, felt solid but it didnt feel like it had the same "umph" that my ss has...but of course he had to start talking smack
so what you guys think? what are my odds?

Driver's race with the edge to the G35. You probably have more torque and hp, but he's about 400 lbs lighter.

nt05's are better than the standard street tire for drag racing, but it's not a "real" DR. I think you could blow it pretty easily if you don't hook....you shouldn't loose your ass or win by a mile, it's a drivers race, even if you've got a weight disadvantage. Most of those kinds of cars have an unresponsive transmission unless he has that worked too....like shifting through mush.

Gonna be close. HP/weight is close and he has a very slight edge in gearing. Definite driver's race.

I think with your mods you will take him unless you drive bad at the track. The G35 weighs about 3700 pounds and with 400rwhp they run high 12s. You should have a small edge but you still can lose.

Where's that 385tq hitting? Probably not down in the low rpms like yours is. I bet if you can hook, you will win. Those G35 coupes are heavy too considering it "looks" small. The G35 Sedan is known for being slightly quicker due to less weight, even with four doors. Should be a good race though.

An 04 coupe's curb weight will be in the neighborhood of 3450 lbs, for what it's worth. That's from the factory. Nothing close to 3700 pounds. The blower, intercooler and piping will all add weight, but not 250 pounds.
What kind of blower does he have? One of my close friends just had his procharger buttoned up this past weekend on his 04 coupe. |
