Traction Control saves cars! Be extremely careful when removing it! I have no firsthand knowledge!

traction control.. pssft...
I have been driving for 25+ years and the only cars I have owned with traction control are since 2005.. 1968 Thunderbird with a 429ci motor = no traction control 1978 Trans Am with 400ci motor = no traction control 1986 Silverado with 350ci motor = no traction control 1992 Mustang 5.0 = no traction control 1996 Silverado with 350ci motor = no traction control 1999 Silverado with 5.3L motor = no traction control Never lost control, spun out, hit curbs, etc.. I wonder why... oh yeah I learned how to drive, and how to control my car.. problem with these turds is that most have no clue how to control their vehicles, almost all of these incidents are a result of mashing the gas and oversteering, then keeping the gas mashed while they continue to oversteer in the wrong direction to correct their mistake. Watch closely, most of these guys do not turn into the skid, they try and turn away from it, while continuing to accelerate.. |

some where funny, some were pretty scary though. Not really Mustang fail as much as driver fail.

Aside from the 68 T-Bird, all the other cars you listed don't compare to the power/weight ratio of today's muscle cars. You driving a 78 Transam (I had a 79) is less than driving a Camaro or Mustang V6 these days. Still, like you said, learning to control the car is the key.

my '78 had a built motor I was king of donuts in that car my Mustang could spin the tires thru 3rd and get twisted easily all my trucks (except the '99) were dumped and built and could easily get sideways if you weren't paying attention.. and I forgot to list my 1971 Mach 1.. I have never once lost control of my vehicles no matter how stupid I was being.. I was taught how to control a vehicle long before I was taught how to drive one.. My father started teaching me how to control a vehicle when I was 14, we went to empty lots and fields and he had me purposely get the car sideways in water and snow to learn how to control it.. I didn't learn 'how to drive' until I was 16 in drivers ed @ school. today most people have no clue how to control a vehicle and they don't drive, they aim their car, mash the gas and pray they don't hit anything in the process, and if they do, then they blame you for getting in their way. and a lot of those Mustang's are 1980 and 1990s vehicle VERY comparable to my list... actually my cars were probably a lot more powerful than most of those as I always built my motors.... |
