It's how much HP actually gets put to the ground...you're probably looking at about 250-270 HP.

323 is your engines horsepower at the crank. Hp measured at the wheels will be less.

It varies from car to car. The only true way to know what YOUR car does at the wheels is to dyno it

The rule of thumb is (i.e. generally accepted approximation) is
Manual trans: RWHP = FWHP * .85 (15% drivetrain loss) Auto trans: RWHP = FWHP * .80 (20% drivetrain loss) where FWHP is flywheel horsepower (power the engine produces) and RWHP is rear wheel horsepower (power the rear wheels put to the ground) RWHP = FWHP - drive_train_losses

i thought FWHP was front wheel horsepower.

Bhp is brake horsepower aka engine horsepower so ls3 is 426 bhp. Fwhp is usually referred to as front wheel horse power, awhp is all wheel horse power.

Engine HP (or crank HP) is referred to as FWHP by muscle car guys. Ricers, however, use FWHP (front wheel hp) because RWHP doesn't really apply. FWHP is the engines net HP with exhaust manifolds, power accessories, and emissions equipment. example: http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-foru...ersion.655892/ BHP is different... it is the gross engine HP without power steering pumps, water pump, etc. The listed ratings of cars (i.e. 426 for LS3 Camaro) is flywheel HP, not BHP.

Seems like the 15% and 20% loss for the manual and automatic transmissions respectively is still about 10-15hp off. Appears our cars lose quite a bit from crank to the wheels with automatics having about 23-25% loss.
