At least they got the Boss in this gen' for a while. We never got a Z28 for gen 5.

They are just scared of the 1LE so they decided to stop making the boss lol. That's a shame I liked the boss and at one time I even considered getting one.

![]() The Boss is in a harder spot than the 1LE as well because of its price point. It's an amazing car, but its a different trim level, and the price reflects it. The 1LE is just a 3500 add-on to the SS trim level. I know two friends who have GT500s, and when I asked why not the Boss, they said it was a kind of "go big or go home" mentality. If you're going to get a really expensive Mustang, get the top one. Not my attitude at all, but I respect their choice. That being said, I would love to have a Boss with the Laguna Seca package. The option for Recaro seats straight from the factory also is something I like about the Mustangs. Gotta give respect to the Boss, and like midnighter said, at least it made an appearance for this gen Mustang. |

Ford originally stated the boss was set for a 2 year production run, same as the original boss 302
another special edition will take its place, possibly the Mach 1 |

Not really ground breaking the Boss was going to be a limited production car to begin with if I remember correctly. Plus it's limited market so when sales drop off so will production.
I really like the car and would not be surprised to see it again after the new platform.

I thought this was the plan? Boss to be a two-year fun-run?

IMO I'm glad they stopped production of the Boss 302. Having only 2 model years, both of which a different body style, makes owning a Boss that much more special and awesome.

Maybe the Boss 351 or the Mach 1 will be next.

I wasn't even all that impressed with the BOSS, it was however, pretty cool to see them bringing back a classic, I feel that there will be a Z28 for Chevy to continue answering the oldschool remakes.
