37 Loving Miles With #9550
Well, I officially took delivery yesterday and although the ground effects and full car rally stripes still needed to be painted/installed (will post pictures when the work is done hopefully this week), I had the car for the weekend before the work will be done. I have to say I owe everybody in Oshawa, FBodfather, the mods/admins here and anybody else I whined to/pissed off because my car was taking forever to get here, a sincere, heartfelt apology. I genuinely feel embarassed and upset with myself. Why you ask? Great question and I'm going to give you guys some cold hard facts about this car here because there are so many indescribable, wonderful things that only those without pulses can argue against.
Firstly, I've never owned a car any more powerful than my Cobalt SS/SC, nor have I ever driven anything this powerful. There was more here than just pure aesthetics at work; clearly. Stepping into this car was a whole new level of power and quality I couldn't even begin to explain to those that never owned a true muscle/sportscar. It was truly surreal. Alright, know what I like most about this car (and you can laugh if you want)? It is the interior, especially with the orange interior package. Every part of the interior (minus areas where you normally wouldn't touch the vehicle) is threaded with what appears to be orange French-stitched leather. The armrests, the center armrest that conceals the USB port, and all of the leather seats. Immaculate. Absolutely immaculate. To say the fit and finish is superb is a complete understatement. The ABL along the acrylic inserts; stunning! My wife couldn't believe how stylish the interior was. How can people nitpick about the HVAC controls and navigation buttons looking/feeling cheap? It feels solid and tight, like the rest of the car! Nothing about this car feels cheap....PERIOD, and I'm hard to impress, believe me. Everything about the exterior is awesome too. The rumbling of the shifter (which I hope is normal) and you know I was thinking of going aftermarket with my exhaust but I don't think it is necessary. It is quite loud as it is and I like everything LOUD! If I never owned another muscle/sportscar in my entire life, I could honestly say I would be damn proud to own this one. Heh, knowing that a high percentage of the cars on the road out there have no chance of beating you in just about every performance category is a great feeling indeed. Knowing this, I don't even have to race at a red light to know I've already beaten them senseless. This goes for all you Subaru WRX/Imprezas, Neon SRT4's, Honda Civics, Assorted subcompact imports and those pesky Mustangs, Chargers and Challengers now. Always gave me heartburn at a light pulling up next to them at a light with the Cobalt. Now I can instill fear without destroying my Pirelli tires. My, how the tides have turned. If you are thinking about canceling your order because of the waiting. You better not be a fool and stay the course because you are going to seriously make an error of epic proportions. The cars are coming. When I picked mine up, there were 3 V6's and 1 SS already at the dealership, though they aren't like mine. ![]() Again, I salute everybody that designed this car and held it to the very best of quality in just about every area. Marketing of the car was my biggest gripe, but hey, now I know why. DkKnightX out! Stay Frosty America! |

Congratulations and good luck!
You're right, its is something that you HAVE to actually experience to realize how awesome this car is. It is as close to driving a piece of bada$$ sculpture as you can get! And what a cool ride! ENJOY
