Always a pleasure to watch blue angle anything. This is just amazing to watch. Watching the angels fly every year during fleet week is like nothing you've ever seen, specially from the 33rd floor overlooking the water. Thanks for posting.

Fleet week in SF, if you make it up here, you can join my fiancee and I in watching with front row seats, 300 feet above everyone else.

I'm impressed by the F-18's 1/4 mile and 0-60 times. I knew it'd kill the ZR1 past the 1/4, but didn't think it'd be so quick off the line.

ZR1 vs. Fighter Jet

"With a light touch on the brakes, run the revs up a bit. Slip off the brake and bury the throttle. There's a light chirp as tires scratch for bite. Then comes a sub-5.0-second sled ride to 60 mph. A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

My dad has made a lot of friends on the team. We used to go to any show they had in the Southwestern US and got VIP tickets.
I too am surprised the jet was also able to beat it off the line. Top gear did a contest between the Veyron and the Eurofighter. Hammond had to drive a mile down the runway and back again. The Eurofighter had to take off, climb a mile vertically, return down the mile, and back down the runway. The plane had double the ground to cover in that test and it still beat the Veyron, though by a slim margin. No surprise the slower ZR-1 (weird to call such a beast "slower") lost when it didn't have the shorter distance advantage.
