exhaust on L99

guys with disabled AFM, anyone recommend an exhaust that is quite and no drone at cruising speeds but with a little more balls when opening the throttle a bit?

Corsa l99 with AFM or LS3 corsa if you have AFM turned off
My personal preference stainless Works retro chambered 3 inch exhaust
Solo with j pipes.
Best 3 I can tell you have no drone and not to much loader that stock while cruising.
Corsa will be the quietest of them all just a little loader than stock once the car settles down after initial start up.

Either of those 3 are great choices, I just like the sound of the stainless works retro chambered. I know what you are going thru, it sucks trying to find exactly what your looking for then it comes back to liking the sound or not. I spend several months listening and talking so I am here to tell you I proudly order my exhaust tonight. I have heard all three exhaust several times before purchasing. Hope this helps any at all.

just remove the resonator on them, mine sounds quite when rpms are below 2200 and screams at WOT

That is exactly what the Dynomax VT system does.

I have Solo high flow cats on the stock exhaust system on my vert. Great sound at WOT and upper rpms, but almost OEM quiet at cruise and no drone. Plus a noticeable power increase. Otherwise, get a Solo catback with J-Pipes. Solo is having 15% off through Monday, 12/2. Listen to some of the videos here: http://solo-performance.com/pe-camaro-l99-auto

Thanks for the input guys!! Wow, I really really liked how the solo high flow cats sound with the stock exhaust! I might go with those, and then upgrade the rest of the exhaust down the road.

Do you plan on doing headers and any point in the future? if so, I suggest holding off the exhaust until after you do headers. Headers will increase the volume and give you a more aggressive sound; even with the stock exhaust. Then depending on how you like the sound, I'd look into exhaust systems.

Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions.

Best regards,

Tyler

TSP 2" Headers, TSP cat delete mid pipes, FlowMaster Xpipe into 12" cherry bomb glass packs, straight pipe to factory tips. AFM tuned out, stock internals and no drone...

After Cat Back was re-done as a single much lighter 1-piece I hade it finished, sealed, ceramic coated and 1600* VHT header paint for a custom look to go with the custom setup

The corsa sounds pretty bad ass. Raider your set up sounds surprisingly smooth for everything on there (in a good way) looks awesome too.

OK JDP, I wasn't planning on headers but you just planted the freakin seed. So what's the choice in that department for no drone, and not crazy loud?

Just about any set of headers will sound similar, with the exception of the Pfadt Tri-Y headers with their 4-2-1 design vs 4-1.

My personal preference would be the Kooks 1-7/8 headers with high flow cats or the Pfadt Tri-Y headers with high flow cats. Both sets will give you a nice power increase and even make the stock exhaust sound pretty dang good. If it's in the budget, I'd suggest jumping on one of our Black Friday specials. Feel free to call, PM or email me with questions or pricing!

Best regards,

Tyler
