I would imagine that cooling a seat is significantly more involved than heating one. It would probably required connecting into the AC compressor lines or a seperate AC compressor system. Liquid cooling would probably be the only way.

Yeah 'Cooled' should really say "ventilated". It's just a fan that blows some air through the perforated leather

In Chevrolet Vehicles the "Cooled" seats are just little fans in the seats that spin at different speeds

I'd take it.

I'd take ventilation over nothing any day. However, I must say I love the seats in my 2 year older F150 better than my Camaro. (As long as we don't consider the fact that the ones in the Camaro are......in a Camaro)

Heated and cooled. And the cooled really freezes my ass off.

It uses Peltier cooling, so it's all electrical. I know these units are available to build whatever sort of things you want with them, and I'm even considering building my own cooled seat system if an aftermarket unit doesn't appear soon.

Yes any cooled seats I've ever seen have just been ventilated. Either passively or actively with a small variable speed fan. My new Denali has them. But installing them is more involved than just wiring in switches and fans. The seat for, must have air passages. Even though most seat foam is open-cell foam, it doesn't allow enough air to pass through. And then you need perforated leather or cloth. Without those changes he air simply won't flow and does little to no good. So you can see, you'd be adding hardware AND changing about 50% of your seats out.

Had them in my Caddy CTS, and I have them in my dodge truck. They are ventilated and work excellent. I so wish they were in my Camaro. You can get them in the CTS-V Recaro's I believe. It would be nice if you could get those and put them in the Camaro.

My SRX had the ventilated seats. It is simply a fan with 3 settings that sucks the hot air through the perforations in the leather. That air then gets replaced with cooler conditioned air from above. It works well for being so simple, and I miss it on long trips. The actively air conditioned seats in the Lacrosse do work better but I imagine they are more complex.
