Help getting wire from trunk to engine compartment

I figured I would post this in the Audio section since someone adding audio has probably done this before.

I'm working on a wiring harness to get rid of my DRLs and I need to run a small wire from the trunk area all the way to the engine compartment. I saw in another DIY thread that there is already a whole on the driver side engine compartment under the master cylinder area that will allow me to go from under the dash to the engine compartment.

So I need to figure out the best way to get the wire there. I'm assuming I can pull up the kick panel that says "Camaro" on it but I don't know how to pull the rear panel that's beside the rear seat or the kick panel that is in the driver's foot well.

Anyone have any suggestions on how I can get those out or how I can run the wire from the rear to the front pretty easily?

yea its pretty easy i have 2 runs of 1/0 guage wire running under the trim panels from front battery post to the battery. I just removed the plastic panel next to the driver seat(just snaps in) then the kick panel under the dash. If you are running a small wire i would say you will not have to fully remove the back panel. Just remove the lower part of the rear seat and pull the panel gently enough so you can put the wire where you want

Why would you need a wire from the trunk for DRL's?

Thanks....I think I may not even have to pop all the panels up. Looks like I can lift the ends and tuck the wire up under the panel. We are only talking and 18 guage wire.

I'll post and explain if it works.

I found a remote relay that works with the Homelink buttons if that will save you some grief.
They have latching, momentary and reversing polarity up to 15A----> http://www.elogisys.com/departments.asp?DID=REMOTE

You have plenty of sources of +12v up front, not sure why you'd need to go all the way to the trunk?

I need to know when the parking/headlights are on. Tail light seems to be the best option without splicing into wires since no one can find a plug for the parking bulbs.

It will all make more sense if I can get it working. I'll be posting up everything if I can work out all the wrinkles.

That makes more sense, especially knowing that the parks don't come on with an RS. I'd just tap into a BCM wire, though.

Yep. See attached. Parking lights are about... half way down.

A poster mentioned homelink above.

Is there an easy way to have your DRL's hooked up to your homelink?

In reference to Me?

If possible, I would like to have them function as normal (DRLs), but if at night I want them on, then all I have to do is press the homelink button.

Possible? What way were you thinking?

I posted the Homelink remote. It would be possible but you'd have to isolate the DRL's so when the remote relay is on the power doesn't feed back into the car.

Basically...
