Lease Rates - Unless You're Loaded...

So, I imagine that the majority of the people on this board don't have the cash to buy a Camaro outright, especially in this economy. If, on the other hand, you do, congratulations...and I hate you

For those of us not in that rarefied first category, did you go through GMAC or some other route? I know it's touchy, and I don't want to get too personal here, but if you don't mind sharing, what was your financing rate?

This will be my first time to ever buy a new car, and I am a total virgin to big loans...other than student loans. I've done my research, but I was just hoping to learn from those who've already traveled this road. Thanks in advance!

they arent leasing these. Cars like this i dont think they lease. It all depends on your credit score. If you have a good one, then somewhere in the 5or 6 range for your interest rate. If you have crappy 8 and above.

I think there are already a few threads on this.

Anyway, I financed through USAA. I got 5.24 APR for 60 months. After $10,750 down, my total financed amount was $31,168.09. Which makes my payments just under $600 a month.

I'm pretty sure that's all the related info I can muster.

I will use one of the commercial leasing companies I do business with. But, because it will be a company car, it will become a tax deduction for the company and it comes out on the side of the ledger so it will be paid with BEFORE tax dollars.

Also, if I get it in 2011 and run the lease over 48 months (with nothing down) I will be paying for it in the end with 2015 dollars.

There are some advantages to owning your own company.

I thought about it, but USAA has been pretty good to me so I decided to continue giving them my business. Plus, having all my financial stuff handled at one bank is better than joining another bank for one loan.

What's your income and how long? (just be general not specific). And how much do you have down and want to finance?

I did the same thing when I got my auto loan. Had it with them for a year then started shopping around to refinance. USAA had me at 9.49 (used car and not so good credit) and then a couple other places could go as low as 7.19. I called USAA with an offer and then dropped my rate to 6.99.

Sorry but 1.25 points is pretty big and over the life of the loan you will save more than 1k on interest charges. Thats a lot of money for military man.

Well, I'm a young guy not too far removed from college, and I wouldn't want to put more than 3K down in this economy. I make roughly 50K/year, and I was looking at the 2LT; so, after options, delivery fee, and GA sales tax, it would be just over 32K.

BTW: they will lease these, just not this year probably. The most leased car in the world is the Corvette

MSRP for 2LT is 26,580. RS package is 1,450. Auto transmission is 1,185. Delivery fee is 795. Tax here is 7%. It sucks, but that's the way it is...

My 2LT I have on order is $32,000 MSRP exactly.

Automatic Transmission
RS Package
20" Polished Aluminum
Sunroof
White Rally Stripes
Spare Tire!

+$795 dest. charge = $32,000.00

That's pre-tax even.
