Why did I sign a 4 year lease??? Can anybody help me out of it???

Greetings all. I'm a new member here but, I've been lurking for awhile keeping up on all the new Camaro news. I'm itching to get one like many of you are but, have one big problem preventing me. I have a 2007 Grand Prix (leased in Sept 2006) that I have a 4 year lease on with GMAC. GMAC will gladly take it back providing I pay the full remainder of the lease. I laughed at the girl on the phone when she told me that. Do people actually do that? Anyhow, I have the car on swapalease.com and am thinking about doubling my efforts and putting it on leasetrader.com but, was wondering if anybody out there knew of any other ways to get out of a lease? I've got a dealer willing to let me order a Camaro through him for GMS and only a $500 deposit. I thank anybody for any help I can get.

So you have got about 16 more payments? I know my dealer has or just had a 5 month pull ahead offer for GM lease's. I would talk to your dealer about this. With a pull ahead program and the amount of time it will take to build your Camaro you could maybe bring your payoff down to a manageable amount. I know it's hard to know what pull ahead programs will be offered in the future, but It may work out for you.

Where in Indiana are you BIB? I live just a little east of Indy in New Palestine. Who is your dealer?

Yeah, 16 more payments. I was hoping to get out of the Grand Prix soon so, I could bank some cash for the Camaro down payment. I have another vehicle I can drive so, really I just want it(Grand Prix) to be gone. There's another option where a dealer could actually buy the Grand Prix but, I doubt they'd want to buy one now since Pontiac is getting whacked out. I can wait for the Camaro if needs be. I'm just trying to explore all my options before I embrace the horror and settle on driving the Grand Prix for another 12 months or so. I mean, it's not like it's a crappy car. It's just not a Camaro.

You could also sell it out right or have someone "assume" your current lease...they take over the remaining obigation on the car. Sometimes hard to find a buyer - it is ussually a realative or close friend. Little bit of paper work with GMAC and not sure what the fee is now.

anyway GL

Better Embrace it in this market. It is a buyers market and used cars are going at 30-50% less than what they would have gone for before all this started. Hold on to it, and wait, probably your only option if you do not have the cash to buy it out. And yes, I know plenty of people that bought out the last few months of the lease and turned it in early to save the insurance and any potential headaches.

Good Luck!

Dugan Chevrolet in Avon, In. 317-745-6444 Ask for Gary Thompson.
I do not know if the 5 month pull ahead is still in effect. Give him a call.
