Cold Air Inductions 2010 - 2014 6.2L Chevrolet Camaro Cold Air Intake System

Hello All,

I was searching the forum and I am having a hard time making a decision on an intake. Is anyone on here using the Cold Air Inductions 2010 - 2014 6.2L Chevrolet Camaro Cold Air Intake System? If so, do you like it? It's nice that you don't have to relocate the washer reservoir. I saw a lot on the roto-fab intake as well. Any insight or advice would be great.

Thanks

I have the Cold Air Inductions intake now and have used K&N in the past. I like this a lot better and looks great under the hood.

Thanks Rico. What do you suggest after the CAI? Are you in the Army? I am Army as well stationed in California as a recruiter.

I have the CAI with Apex race scoop and washer setup ,works and looks great . Only thing you give up is little washer fluid capacity . Great mod with no downside.

I installed a C.A.I. on my current car and had a RotoFab on my 2010 SS. The C.A.I looks a little nicer, but if I had it to do over on my new car I would have gotten another RotoFab. Performance on both is the same.

My major complaint with the C.A.I. is that you have to remove the cover to charge the battery, and the 1/4 turn fasteners are not very reliable. I have difficulty fastening all of them on my car. Two will go right on, but the third is always a problem, regardless of which one it is.

If you drive you car daily this may not present a problem, but I like to use a Battery Tender on mine now and then and it is a problem for me. I have tried other grounding points on the engine, but they do not work, so I have to use the one by the intake box.

All in all not a big deal, but I really prefer the RotoFab.

First mod I installed was the Cold Air Inductions Inc. CAI. Easy install, looks great and you can hear and feel the difference right away.

Then I painted it white to match the rest of my engine compartment.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I ended up pulling the trigger on the Rotofab. Hopefully it works out well for me.

I'm stationed at Ft Hood right now. I'm a CW2 and I fly the apache helicopter. How do you like recruiting. When I was enlisted I considered doing that for a couple years but changed my mind.

Interesting. There are dozens and dozens of threads on here about "which cold air intake system should I get?". You should have refined your Search request.

Nothing against the others but the CAI, Inc. intake is far and away the preferred intake system by C5 members (based on numerous polls taken in other threads). Seems that was also the case on this brief (thank God) thread, yet... you chose Rotofab.

Just curious as to why. Was it the cool name?

I did some more research and saw that Rotofab had got good reviews. I was emailing RDP Motorsports with questions about the CAI and even they recommended the Rotofab. It's not often when a salesman tells you to go with the cheaper product.

I installed it today and did the muffler delete. The car sounds great. As for performance, with just the intake and no race scoop, I really could not tell a difference.

Annnnnnnnd... there ya go.

Seriously though, since you already have the Roto installed, do a fuse pull and then run it for 20-30 miles. The MAF sensor needs to communicate with the ECU to adjust for the increased air-flow. Sometimes it takes a while.

No thank you for your great service and price on the parts you sold me .If you remember we had a long phone conversation ,and you took the time to listen to me about the washer bottle volume .As it turns out the smaller washer bottle has not been an issue as I had thought , I still 2 months later have not had to refill it yet. IMHO your Apex Race scoop is a must have for anyone doing a better cold air box ether CAI or Rotofab .
I chose the CAI over the Rotofab ,because I liked the looks and the Ted Jannatty dyno air box test results .
