Brembo Piston Sizes?

I'd like to know the piston sizes for the CTS-V 6-piston calipers as well as the OEM front 4-piston calipers. If someone has either or both calipers off their car and can take a measurement, I'd appreciate it...

I believe the CTS-V calipers have 3 different progressive sizes smallest in front an large in the rear has something to do with equalized braking force....

SS front is 44/40mm, ZL1 is 30/34/38mm.

I agree that pad type replacement will make the most noticeable difference. Take this SS/ZL1 brake conversion review with a grain of salt. They indicated Brembo ZL1 pads that came with the kit were used for the comparison.

Just by the increased rotor diameter, directional vented disc cooling, and larger pad surface area, the zl1/ctsv setup should help reduce brake fade and provide more consistent braking. Compared to SS aftermarket vented rotors or front brake replacements, the cost CTSV/ZL1 setup is relatively inexpensive. DBA, RB, Wilwood, Stoptech, AP, Brembo solutions are $$$$.

I know what you mean by human perception... This past weekend, last run I hit a cone and said screw it and overdrove the rest of the course, throttle steering hairpins. It was my fastest time(without the penalty).

The main reason to upgrade to the CTs-V is not for increased stopping power, it is for more consistent braking on the track throughout the day. The CTS-V/ZL1 handle the dissipation of heat better which means less chance of break fade and harder to boil fluid.

It seems to be a misconception with some people that expect huge difference in stopping power but that is not the case. It does let you use more aggressively pad or break more aggressively on the track without far which has s why they are such an amazing upgrade for track junkies.
