Anyone else feel this way??

Hello all I have a ssrs with the ls3 and in my opinion so far it does not feel as fast as it should be. i have 1000 miles on it(i know its not broken in yet) but yesterday i let the clutch out rolled for about a foot and stomped on the gas and the car just went without any wheel spin. btw all the traction nannys were off. i just thought that with 426hp you would be able to do this without dumping the clutch. any ideas since i have not heard any computer reprogramming issues with the ls3 from bad gas. I have put 93 in it since i got it, but dealer may have put 87 in.

You were out of the power band... pretty much the same as bogging off the line. Try this if you don't want to dump the clutch, let out easy and get going, get up to 15 or 20 mph, then floor it. Should break em loose fine then.

Traction is a good thing though. You'll miss it when you don't have it.

The cars are heavy but they are still fast, deceptively fast. There have been many of us that have accidentily hit 100 and not realized it. I'm right past breakin I hit over 1600 miles so far and mines seems to be loosening up some but i also put longtubes on it so that helps. I don't think any ls3 are slower than advertised but its a big heavy car so it not gonna be a bullet off the line but its plenty fast.

thanks for the input guys i talked to the dealer today and he said the tires wont break loose because of the 20 in rims too. he also said that this engine is kinda doggy until anywhere between 3000 to 5000 miles and then it will really loosen up. belive me im not complaining i just thought with this much horsepower the wheels would break loose easily. soooo i will just drive it more and see what happens. the only mods im doing are a cat back and cai. tell me what you think about what the dealer says.

The big tires are definitely going to be a bit harder to get going, so there is some truth to it. However, this car is geared appropriately for them. Oh, and shifting at only 4000 rpm, you are really not getting to the meat of the powerband on this engine.

Mine is the same. It won't leave rubber for anymore than a couple of feet. Only have 800mil.---on the other hand, 20" tires are expensive.

IRS is also your friend (sort of) in the traction dept. My IRS cars "STUCK" better to the road than my live axel cars.

If you think 87 was put in it do the fuse pull..

I dont think mine had 87 put in it at the dealer but did the fuse pull and my GOD it woke the car up..

Its alot faster smoother going through the gears is smoother..

I pulled them when I had about 3000 miles on mine

I have 20 in. on mine and can spin the tires for about 15 feet...

they say the LS3 doesnt realy get broken in good untill about 10,000 or so miles...

I had 2500 on mine when i spun them...

I can spin them easily and this was before the fuse pull..

I can rev to 1000 RPM's then let off the clutch and spin them..''Its not that hard..

(I can do that with Traction control on..)
