Pulled the trigger today

Just got back from ordering my 2SS at the local dealer.
2SS
CGM with White rally stripe
polished wheels

Dealer told me to expect 10-12 weeks for delivery. I'm giddy as a school girl, can't wait.

No, thats about right if the order can go right in. Check and see when you go to 2000. I was 6 weeks once i went to 2000. Took 4 weeks for an allocation but then it moved right through. They are doing pretty good now. 6 weeks is about typical for any domestic car, save specilty cars (ZR1, CTSV...)

Not sure about these numbers: 2000, 3000 etc. I assume this is tracking info, right?

ok off the top of my head...

1100 - you penned an order at the delaership and it is in the computer waiting on allocation. This is where MANY MANY people got screwed. An allocation means your dealer is permitted to submit an order.
2000 - order accepted by GM
3000 - order accepted by production control I think? usually get your TPW (target production week) here. Its not gospel but they usually run pretty close. My TPW was week of Aug 3. Mine was built Aug 5th.
3300 - order scheduled
3400 - order broadcast - this means all your parts are in the line waiting to come together and make your car. You are getting close now!
3800 - built, you get a VIN here. You are getting REALLY close now!
4B - bayed for shipping (good)
4D - bayed for QC (bad)
4200 - shipped. This is where the wait gets really bad, knowing its on its way.
5000 - delivered to dealer
6000 - delivered to customer

There are many more but these are the ones that matter to us buyers!

Go to the tracking thread and you can ask The Viz daily for updates up to 3800. After that you can get on the shipping spread sheet. Good luck, enjoy the wait and I am sure you have heard, its so worth it!

I didn't even think to ask the dealer if he had an allocation. I hope he's not jerking me around.

Here is my suggestion:

Orders are accepted by GM on Thursdays. You said you ordered yesterday so after Friday the 26th start checking here:

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31115

If you don't see some movement by Oct 7, you need to start raising hell. No matter what your dealer tells you, check with us to verify. This will give 2 weeks (Sept 25 and Oct 2) for your order to get picked up. Give the weekend for it to show up on the tracking site.

Good luck!

Oh, you need your 6 digit # that started with "N" to track the order. It should be on your workbench. You DID get a copy of your workbench order... right? For example mine was NKJWCK. It will look like that and be at the top of the workbench order.

Nope. Didn't even think about it. I was so excited that i left the dealership without taking a copy of what i signed. I'll just have the dealer fax me a copy tomorrow.
