Mini SD Thumb Drive Problem

OK I bought the mini USB drive that everyone here was raveing about that only sticks our 1/4 of an inch... I got the 8 gig and only 6gig of it is full. I put it in my sis's car today to try it out before mine gets here in a week or two. And after several tries it finally came up and showed 2:06. but it would n't play anything.

I have read this forum front to back... so they are NOT in folders and they are in MP3 format--- what am I doing wrong????? Are they suppost to just start playing or do I need to push a button? Thanks!

Actually they do need to be in folders. If you put too many files in the root of the drive, it will crap out.

I have the same drive you have, the 8 gig. I have had no problems at all. but I certainly don't that that many songs on it yet. I only have about 1 gig on it, and they are all in the root directory. I get in, and it starts to play and picks up where is left off after the last time I was in the car.

Yea, I'm not sure what the limit is. It's somewhere between 100 and 2500.

I have the 4 gig with probably 3 gigs worth of music, all in the root directory, and have no problems. When I had each album in a folder the shuffle function didn't work that well, it would jump between only 3 or 4 folders.

USBs have a song limit of 2500 songs in our cars, if its more than that, it will probably freak out.
I have the same 8gb card, but only have around 600 songs, (more than enough IMO), and I dont have any problems.
All songs in the root, and only directory.
Is there anything else on the card? That could slow it down, and possibly cause problems too.

Also, depending on the software version of her module, there may be problems. Check out this thread for more info.

The current version is CE, supposed to be in dealerships now.
