Cloth seat covers removal.

Hey everyone! I'm about to change my oem cloth seat covers to oem leather covers and I'm wondering if any one can point me in the right direction on how to do it, thanks.

im pretty sure that they slip over and plastic pieces clip over the edge of the metal on the seat bottoms.remove the cloth covers and that should give you an idea of how the new ones fit on.it will be helpful to allow the new covers to warm in the sun as this makes it easier to stretch them over the seats without tearing as not all surfaces are leather, just the ones your body touches.you would probably be best to do a bottom cushion first without removing the covering from the matching top.that way you can see where the lines meet up when the seats are put together.i havent done any on the newer camaros but have done several old school(60s-70s) cars where hog rings are required.take your time,be patient and dont overstretch the material and you should be ok.oh yeah,if this is your DD,do the passenger seat first, that way if it takes longer than you thought you will still be able to get to work, etc.

redcoats has some very good tips in his post ...
Recently had a leather seat cover replaced under warranty and snapped some photos.
I've posted info in another thread explaining the process - fasteners and some steps, the seat back has a large hidden zipper, there are also plastic perimeter strips that attach it to the frame and many hog rings (exactly like redcoats mentioned):
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=490257

Here are a couple of related photos
(Each rectangular hole in the foam has a hog ring in that location attaching the leather cover to the seat frame at that point,
plastic perimeter strips run along the edges to fasten the cover edge to the frame.:

I changed out my cloth covers for factory leather covers a couple of years ago. There is a great thread on this forum that shows you exactly how to do it right down the the location of every hog ring. Use the search function, I'm sure you will find it. Be careful with the front seat airbags. They are a potential bomb that can cause serious injury.

I found it here:

But it seems that the pictures are missing. I saved the thread in a Ms word file, which I will attempt to post here when I get home from work tonight.

This reminds me, I still need to swap the leather covers out for the cloth ones I bought a couple years ago. I would of been nice if cloth interior was an option for the 2SS.

That's like tearing up hardwood floors in your house to see it there is carpet under it.

Fortunately Hardwood floors don't burn your feet in the summer. I at least wish I went with the grey seats to mitigate some of the summer butt heat.

The leather in these cars is pretty crappy. I don't think it even comes from cows. No matter how well it's taken care of, it still ends up looking bad. I wouldn't mind a good quality leather interior though.

Contact your Chevy dealer, there is a wholesale company they use called Katzkin. I know they switch out seating on new cars but, not sure after purchased. The original owner on my 2013 had the dealer switch out black cloth seats for a different color leather with perforated inserts. A lighter color opens up the dark interior. Here's mine. The color is alabaster.

Lol I live in Wisconsin, so I don't have to worry too much about the summer heat.

Sorry man, I completely forgot about posting the word doc. You probably want to have a look at this since they discuss how to remove the headrest anchors so you won't have to stretch the seat-back cover over them. They are easy to remove with a screw driver by slightly bending the tab. Also note that Harbor Freight has decent hog ring pliers here:

Hmm...can't seem to attach the file, the site is reporting:
