Orange Peel in paint
Hey guys, not sure if this has been discussed on here before but I was GM about it.. I wanted to here if anyone else is dealing with this?

W'ell, I'm going to call them Monday and talk to them about it. It is really bad in my opionion. Not to mention, I have alot of trash in the paint. Very visible and you can feel it in the paint.

I would see if they would fix it. I only found 2 very small pieces of trash in the whole car which i fixed when re clearing it.

On my SIM car it appears the front header panel is a slightly different color than the hood?
When watching the show Amazing Factories, and watching the Camaro being painted the front header panle is not on the car. If it is painted separate, plus being plastic may explain the off color non match? Pretty disappointing for a 2010 car to have this kinda of miss. J |

Sometimes the different angles of the body panels make the paint look off shade. Did you not notice it when you bought it?

My car has NO orange peel and the color of ALL the body panels matches. Oops...I forgot...GM put my car on a quality hold and would'nt tell me anything so I bought a GT500 instead....

First thing I noticed when we got ours home. Not sure if the color makes a difference or not but pretty noticable on the Victory Red.

Yeah mine has it too, a friend has a shop and he's gonna wet sand, buff, and wax my car before I put it away for the winter.

Then I was told they can "try" to color sand the clear "at my expense" but if it is too thin in spots and gets ruined I will have to pay to get the car repainted. I took high res pictures and e-mailed them to a contact in Canada, it's been 8 weeks and no reply. I first started a customer care case so there is a number attached to all correspondence. It's killing me since I have painted stripes planned and can't touch it until I reach the end on the original paint. Then it will be out of MFG warranty for sure.
