Lightweight Pulleys ?

Anyone have any knowledge on the new lightweight pulleys?

will they affect the engine in anyway, what about balance?

Are you reffering to an underdrive crank pulley? If so they will show a 7-10rwhp gain. They are a neutral balance just like the stock pulley so the balance will be the same.

Are there any stock diameter lightweight pulley's out there yet? From my understanding don't you lose hp on a positive displacement supercharger with an underdrive pulley?

Any performance shops that would have a good recommendation on which company to go with?

We use a lot of the SLP underdrive pulleys, quality billet pieces. The spin the accessories slower (ie. alternator, water pump, power steering, etc.) which takes less hp away from the motor. Chappy48, the supercharger is run off of the crank, turning it slower would result in less boost and therefore less hp, in supercharged applications it is just the opposite, usually you go with an overdriven crank pulley to turn the supercharge faster and make more boost. I haven't looked into it a whole lot but imagine that there is an application out there for you. Here is the link to the SLP pulley and a picture of it.

Inovators west makes an overdriven 8 rib conversion for supercharged applications

yes, not sure of what the implications might be towards the engine and maintaing balance. But it sounds like all is positive with no issues.

It is balanced to have no implications in terms of bearing wear or anything detrimental to the engine.
