I have a 96 Pontiac Trans Am that has a serpentine belt that is making a lot of noise. Friend of mine said that if I'm going through the trouble of replacing it, I might as well put some upgraded pulleys on there. I was shopping around online and found a lot of pulleys for sale but am having trouble locating belts for the new pulleys. Am I correct in assuming that I would need a slightly shorter belt since the pulleys will be smaller? Is so, can anyone recommend a place to buy the belt? Thanks.

go via summit racing, & look to see if there is a March performance set up for your car.

When you get the kit, install it then mesure for belt size.

one word of warning though, HAVE someone else put the power steering pump pully on.

He won't need to go through all of that just for underdrive pulleys. Here is a link with your undersrive pulley kits from Summit

These are the same ones I would wind up using for my 95 Z/28. At most you get a new crankshaft and alternator pulleys. Some on the list only have one pulley. Anyway, the first 2 that I looked at had a suggested part link that showed the suggested belt. That should take care of anything you need to find out.

Tammy your kit was a full replacement of the pulley system. Drayton_cross, you don't need to go anywhere near that drastic.
