87 octane vs 93 octane?
what would be better for the v6 camaro with my mods ( intake and exhaust ) i mean right now 87 is at a peak of 2.8X$ and 93 is at 3.10$ i was wondering if its really worth switching over? any difference i would notice?

I'll say it this way, and it's only my opinion...
in every day driving, just plain old day to day, it's not worth switching. If you are going to run the car hard, say at a dragstrip, IMHO, it's worth running the better gas. Every little bit helps there, but on the street, I don't think you'd notice a difference. |

I've always put 93 octane in mine and it runs like a charm.

Well, mine doesn't pull nowhere near the timing when I'm running 91 then it does when I'm running 87. So, in part, they aren't wrong. But, from the factory, the car is tuned for 87, and will run fine on it. Will it run it's best? No, probably not. But it will run fine, and for everyday users, I'm sure that's plenty.

But like you said... day to day driving you're not going to notice much difference... although your MPG should go up a a little bit with the higher octane gas... BTW... we have 93 octane, 100% gas here...

In the owners manual for the SS it says premium fuel. Not sure about the v-6 but IMO I would think that the better fuel will not only make it run better but kept all the internals cleaner

I've been using 89 regularly. I'm just daily driving, so I figured I'd take the middle ground and go with midgrade.

I was getting 17 mpg around town. 23 highway on 87. I now get 19 around town and 26 to 27 on the highway with 93.

Once again we cover this subject, It is set up to be able to run 87 with no problems. I put 90+ miles a day on my car just to go to work and back home. My mpg's went up since I started using 93. Does it offset the dollar amount from 87 to 93? Prolly not, but I like the idea that less timing pulled by knock sensors equals better performace when I want it. Use whatever grade gas you want to. If other people are that concerned about the fuel grade you are using then offer for them to pay the difference for you.
