baseline dyno results

Well just got back from getting my baseline pulls. Little disapointed but the gentlemen doing the runs said no to worry. Their dyno is called the "Heartbreak Dyno". It was a Dyno Dynamics. Well anyways my numbers were 358.2HP and 356.8 Trq. :(Cars a 1ss with the manual trans.

Let me know what ya'll think.

How many pulls did he make, What was the Water, and more importantly the oil temp?

How many miles are on it?

Ted.

Water and oil temp I have no idea. He allowed a 5 min cool down between each run. There was a total of 7 runs. The first 3 didnt really count, he had to call the manufacter for a code to unlock the dynos speed limiter. Runs where in fouth gear. Mileage is about 6300.

All dynos are different... that doesnt sound like too much of a heart break. Mine is getting work done right now and they have a "stingy" dyno. All the LS3 Camaros are pulling 340-350 rwhp.
So not only are you inline with everyone else, that dyno is not much of a heart breaker. haha.

Ask him what the correction factor was.

Could be a calibration Issue.

I don't expect it is your car, I have not seen a single LS3 under 372 RWHP.

Mmm, I had my 2LT dyno'd last month. It seems like forever ago... before the gargantuan snowstorms hit. Anyway, the V6 numbers came up 241 HP, 217 Torque. 3 runs there. 5k miles on her.

Hope the little sister's stock numbers help!

Thats outta the engine, not RBHP. Dyno measures the HP/Torque going to the wheels. Gotta get through the transmission, etc., which bleeds off HP & Torque.

That's at the crank, they are talking at the rear wheels. There is a HP loss from the drive train.

Based on 15% drivetrain loss, a 426hp car should put down around 365 rwhp on a dyno. So the LS3s are easily making 426hp. They're probably a little underrated if anything.
But dynos vary greatly. Thats why we see numbers vary from 340-380 rwhp from stock LS3s.

This.

The only numbers that count are the track times. I wouldn't get real bent on what the dyno number says, they are all a bit different.
