Stock airbox & snorkel

I was looking it over today and looks like there is room for improvement. First I noticed the air gaps where it snaps into the box. I would think some silicone is in order. I also think a better shroud could be made to replace the foam ring. Ill prolly fill all the ribs and channels in the box with spray foam insulation so all is smooth. Looks like a turbulence factory in there! What ur thoughts?

You may be on to something. In the mean time, it looks like Atco raceway is opening tomorrow so along with my Blackwing tumorless intake tube, I insulated the MAF to avoid heat soak. A little insulation and duct tape, no time or parts to relocate the IAT

Now THAT'S some ingenuity! I like the blackwing. It's well established from the fourthgens, it's not chrome, and it matches the underhood plastics.

Just temporary for the track. Still haven't decided on a permanent intake solution.

I'm curious to see what kind of improvement you'll see.
