How many people would consider a Hood with a Clear center? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

We been contacted a few times regarding a hood being made with a clear center, similar to the vette.

We looked at the options we have and it wouldn't be too hard to make a mold from our Ram Air hood or OEM one.

The Extractor hood like shown on our SIM camaro " Legends" would not be a possiblity here i was told, since the inner and outer would need to be totally redesigned.

This is up to you guys before we consider anything. Were Just looking for YES or NO answers or simple suggestions to make it right if we were to make it.

The position of the cut out we show is made without knowing the exact placement of the engine, so we know that it may need moved up some...

we need a ZR1 Style HOOD!!! i would be happy if it was a OE hood with the window in it like the Callaway Camaro, but i don't think they are selling it as a part.

They will definitely sell IMO, as long as there are good quality hoods.

ABSOLUTELY.

I want the Callaway hood and am prepared to pay the $4k BUT they will only offer it as an option on their otherwise overpriced engine upgrade. I'm still looking.

I'd pay a good dollar for this made in carbon fiber as well. Indeed, I would LOVE to buy the Seibon bumble bee hood with a window if anyone knows how to make it.

Wouldnt it be easier to cut out your CF Design and put high end plexy there instead of having to redesign a whole new hood?

Granted I have more and more hood options.

RK has really stepped up the game with 2010 Camaro parts.

I would order that hood with the clear center, but on the Ram Air hood you have to get rid of those side vents, IMO they just don't work.

Yes. I want one as long as it looks as clean as the hood in the new zr1 corvette.

The Callaway hood shows their blower .. but if you don't have a blower on your engine .. then wouldn't the window in the hood just be showing the plastic (less than impressive) engine cover? Maybe if people without superchargers had removed/painted/aftermarket engine covers then it could work

I think the idea of a windowed hood is cool .. but I just hope people who buy it have something to show off.

Hmmmmm... maybe I should just buy a sticker that looks like a window with an LS9 under it. That's gotta be good for an extra 100hp.
