Installed my K&N CAI yesterday and I'm very happy so far. Just my 2 cents.

Yours would be an SS, ours would not, lol. I don't think K&N has a CAI available for the LLT yet. Could be wrong....

Youre not wrong. They have a filter for the stock box, that's it.

To get back to the original question, I'm not buying an Airaid. Many people have and many people are satisfied with their "butt dynos." Vararam has told me in emails that they tested an Airaid in their shop and it was worse than the stock box. No gain in power and a loss in MPG. "Rush to market special" they called it. Now I understand that could be just a competitive jab but when the other big names are still tinkering to get it right, I find it hard to believe that Airaid got it right in just a few short months, that much faster than Vararam, K&N, or any other major player. I will say this though, that big giant plastic tube and cone does look impressive under the hood.

I pretty much have my heart set on a ram air system from Vararam but even that I'm not gonna do til I see some numbers. Currently they are wrapping up testing with no ETA on production. That's the bad news.

I'm sure I'll get flamed mercilessly for this post as tons of people here have already bought the Airaid but I'm just putting out my opinion and what I was told.

I honestly would not go off of what a competitor said at all, for obvious reasons.. Anyways I was emailing Vararam a couple months back and they said they would have their CAI done by February, well obviously not.. That's the intake I was really waiting for, I currently have an Airaid and I'm very happy, however I'm eager to see what further test result in. If it isn't good then I'll wait until Vararam comes out AND wait to see numbers other than from them.

If I were you I'd wait another week or two until JDP does their test and see what they come up with.

PS, my mpg DID go down the first couple days I had Airaid, but then after a little driving it got back to normal.

I almost did, but after looking at it I thought it looked to big in the engine compartment. I also heard of others complaining because it actually touched the engine cover. By the way, I went with the Roto-fab and am glad I did. There are a lot of nice choices out there now. Get what you think looks the best is my take. I personally don't see one being that much better performance wise.
