Distance between rear Bowtie holes?
Can anyone tell me what the distance is between the guide holes (and their diameters) for the rear Bowtie?
I got the SLP retro badges but don't particularly care for the shape of the rear black decal that the "S"'s are supposed to go on. I'm thinking of either putting the "S"'s directly on the back, or using an X-acto to cut the black decal to try and replicate the look of the black outline of the "real" SS badges. I just want to be sure the guide holes will still be covered.

I have an OEM rear bowtie here. The distance between the two prongs on that is 3 1/2".

You can get SS trailblazer emblems, for the effect you are looking for, and they will cover the holes.

I took my OEM bow ties off and have them right here. The holes are 4" apart center to center. They are 4 1/4" from the outside edges of the pegs.

Thanks guys....got it.
I like the "retro" SS script, so the TB SS emblem won't do it. I ended up having to use the black oval that came with SLP's SS emblems due to the size of the guide holes. I was wanting to cut the black oval to follow the shape of the "SS" the way the 1st & early 2nd Gen emblems looked, but the guide holes were just a little bit too far apart. Oh well, got it done and am happy with the look.....for now at least! If I had it to do over again though I would have tried to locate a "real" 1st/2nd Gen emblem that would be large enough to cover the guide holes.

Can we see what the embelem looks like on the back of the car please.
I have the heritage grill with the retro "SS" in white in the center and was thinking of getting another one for the back. Mine is from Clear Cut Creations. Last edited by SWRocket; 04-26-2010 at 08:21 AM. |
