For a good mix of get up and mpg from what Ive noticed, 2-3k is what seems to be preferable, although I personally have a hard time staying in that range because 4-6k is just so much more fun...On mine I have been tending to sit at about 17 mpg with 91 octane

I am sure there are some people on here who run the dynos and stuff that can tell you something more precise, this is simply observation for me

i was wondering this same thing when i picked up my car two weeks ago. i cruise at around 2-3 thousand RPMs. but like Zalirid said, 4-6 thousand RPMs is so much more fun.

For street performance, keeping the RPM +/- 1000 of peak torque (3600 to 5600) gives great power. For the track, shift at 6500 RPM. For gas mileage, keep RPM low. Shift to 5 at 45 MPH and 6 at 55 MPH.
