If your oil life monitoring system drops below 5% you'll get that message every time you start your car. If you pull it up on the display you have the option to reset it. Make sure it is reset every time the oil is changed.

They just forgot to reset the oil life system.

To reset turn your ignition to "power" (don't start the car just turn on the electrical) and then slowly push the gas pedal all the way to the floor three times within 5 seconds. After that, turn the power off and it should be reset. Give it a few seconds and then start the car and let it run its start up cycle and see if the light goes away. If not, try again.

Sorry it is 8.5 quarts and believe me you need that .5 if you do any road coarsing. Had a friend that started having oil pressure problems only having 8 in doing so serious road coarse turns.

I've read anywhere between 8 and 8.9 qts. I put 8 in mine and checked the dipstick. Just below the "full" mark.

I read the same thing in my owner's manual. Did'nt work on my car. But it was simple to reset it by just calling up "oil life", pushing the "clear/reset" button, then "yes".

That has happened before. If you haven't already, check your level with your dipstick (before driving the car any more). 3 quarts low WILL cause you problems...
