Toyota: Moving..BACKWARDS?

I just can't stand seeing toyota blitz the TV ads with their "commitment to safety and quality". Listen, you liars, your reputation is now crap, and it probably wouldn't be so bad if you just would have fessed up in the first place...but nooooo, you blamed floormats. People will give you a break if you admit you did wrong and are actually sorry. But, alas, you wanted to try and cover up problems with LIES. Tough toenails toyota, you lose! http://www.insideline.com/toyota/toy...ers-shine.html

Those commercials irritate me too...I've gotten to the point where I switch the channel for a few minutes, I'm tired of hearing it.

unfortunately they are working.... my professor recently asked our class what car she should go test drive in the 20k range. I and many other students recommended the Mazda 3 (she couldnt wait for cruze). yesterday she came to class to announce she test drove the corrola, and without testing any other car bought it because she thought she was getting a good deal..............hmmm.....

I'm actually a little concerned. Our Lexus dealer said that Bonnies car has no recalls or warnings.

I'd be concerned too, judging from toyota's track record on this.

Your wife drives a Lexus IS-F right. I think you're good.

Don't you love that. You paid for a Lexus and you're getting treated like you bought a corolla.

I think it's an IS250 or 350, not an IS-F.

Toyota's one commercial about how they think safety is the most important thing irritates the hell out of me. PROFIT is the most important thing to them, and they're willing to let people die in order to get it.

Yup, Toyota's quality is moving backwads. JD Power released their IQS and Toyota's numbers slid backards

2009 JD Power Initial Quality Survey

#1 Lexus: 84 problems/100 vehicles
#7 Toyota: 101 problems/100 vehicles
#21 Scion: 118 problems/100 vehicles
Industry Average: 108 problems/100 vehicles

2010 JD Power Initial Quality Survey

#4 Lexus: 88 problems/100 vehicles
#20 Scion: 114 problems/100 vehicles
#21 Toyota: 117 problems/100 vehicles
Industry Average: 109 problems/100 vehicles

LOL Tell me about it. Took 8 hours at the dealer to change the mats and check the brakes

Oh and I believe Bonnie drives a 350?

Have any of you looked at their "star safety" systems? Its kind of hilarious.
  • Stability Control
  • Traction Control
  • Anti lock brakes
  • Power Brakes
  • Electronic brake force distribution

Thats it. Thats what they mean when they talk about their "Star Safety" systems. 5 systems, 4 of which almost every car made in the past 5 years has had anyway, and nothing new.

They would have been stars for releasing this system if they released it 20 years ago. Now, it's just a buzz phrase to make their average safety features sound special.
