Muffler Delete...how Loud?

I've watched a ton of videos on youtube but was just wondering how loud the standard muffler delete is versus some of the popular cat-backs? Borla-S? Touring? Flowmaster? Just want to know what to expect because I am going to give it a try this week, if I hate it, oh well, out of $60.00

Muffler delete, and even those who add the X-Pipe at the same time (me for one) are for those who don't mind, or even like decel popping (me again). If that will bother you, going with a commercial setup like you mentioned will tone the popping out a bit and naturally quiet it a bit more.

I enjoyed mine! I thought it sounded as good if not better than most axle back systems!

Heck, I have LTs and MagnaFlow cat back now and my muffler delete was louder!

I did this last week and it sounds great. It's no where as loud as I would thought. I want it to be louder! It is very quit until you punch it, then it gets loud but still...not that loud. I have had MagnaFlow on my old 5.0s and they were way louder, and legal too.

I am planning on going with a muffler delete and the addition of a Magnaflow resonated x-pipe.

Is there anyone out there with this setup on an L99/A6? I am getting a tune so AFM won't be an issue.

I am worried that it will be too loud even with the resonated x-pipe.

Anyone?

not loud enough. you'd have to take the sound resonators off to get it sounding decent.
if you want it even louder you gotta take the cats off, but I wouldn't recommend that.

I have muffler and sound resonator taken out on my L99. it's not loud at all. you only hear it on a cold start up, after it's warmed up and idle it's silent.

I've done it to mine, spent $80.00. either way well spent for the moment. sounds like a custom exhaust with a fraction of the price. Even looking at the "loud mouth" exhaust, it has to be almost exactly the same. the axle back straight pipes cant' be any different other then the tips used.
