Interior Materials

Here's a post from Edmunds at the LA auto show:

http://blogs.edmunds.com/straightlin...-interior.html

I'm not too worried, as material quality often changes from pre-pro to showroom floor production, but it is worth noting. I remember being very disappointed when I sat in a pre-pro Malibu, but of course the real thing is very much something different. Here's hoping that's the case here.

The interior of that car isn't production-spec. This straight from Indy:

"The textures were actually sprayed on for the shows, if you rubbed hard enough, it would all come off."

Which is why they're keeping people like that journalist(^) from touching it...

The materials used will be very similar to the inside of an Impala.

I remember Scott always reminding us that the cars we're seeing aren't "production ready", and I'm very confident that what we will see in the production models will make us very happy.

Thanks for the clarification. Edmunds "sign in" feature is down for maintenance right now, but as soon as I can I'll be educating everyone involved

It is a little frustrating that someone would jump a wall to check out a preproduction car and then criticize the materials that were used.

That is like complaining that a concept car is non-functional.

some one needs to punch that douche in the face. If they said they weren't the final production interiors why would you make an article saying they were bad.....its really just more anti Gm rhetoric from the auto media

yes, i hate it when journalists don't actually take the time to find out why something is the way it is and just make crap up. I read the news to find out the facts, not what you think are the facts, idiot!

Great, now Edmunds won't even let me comment on the article. Sheesh glass walls are there for a reason, and they call them pre-production cars for a reason. I can understand wanting to touch it, but don't complain when it isn't actually production ready and then try to pass it off as such.
