WTF kind of ticket is this>=)

A cop pulled me over and said that I was speeding in a parking lot......WTF he was out of his car giving another person a ticket..... I asked him was it because of my exhaust I was n 1st gear at high rpm's he even told me that he guessed my speed and gave me a ticket for going 30 n a 15 WTF is that I'm going to fight this sorry if it's hard to read this I'm still pissed off

What parking lot was it in? Was the speed limit posted?

Ya, screw that. Parking lots are private property. They can't give you a ticket unless on a public road with the speed limit marked on a black letters on white background regulatory sign. Any other speed limit sign is not enforceable. Like a wooden sign in a parking lot is just "suggested".

It was at my work parking lot in witch my moms side of the family owns and no ther is no posted speed limit

Private or not, if there is aposted seed limit in the parking lot it is enforcable. Plus some states have standard parking lot limits set. So even if it's not posted the speed limit is always 15 or whatever the state decides.

That is BS. Take him to court, but make sure you read the law on parking lot speed limits first. The fact that he didn't clock you gives you an advantage.

Look up laws concerning signs. There are REGULATORY and ADVISORY. If it's not a standard white sign with black letters, it's not enforcable. Look it up in the MUTCD. For those of you who don't work in that business, that would be the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices.

Only infraction you can get in a parking lot is a DUI. That's why the cops don't give tickets in parking lots and in fender benders, it's up to the insurance companies to duke it out.

he was telling other cops that i was doing a burn out he didn't tell me this so i went over to the parking lot and took pic's of the parking lot and guess what no burn out marks is anyone a cop here so they could help me on this 1
