HELP! how do i remove the mail slot insert without damage??

ok ,

i want to remove the mail slot insert to add a personal touch to it and then replace it.

how do i get it out while still being able to put it back solidly?

Just pops right out. I think all I used was a pair of pliars.

You can also pop your hood open, take out the top clips on your bumper cover, pull it up slightly and get to it. This way you push out the insert by the rear tabs and avoid making scratches.

to those that pulled it out with pliers,

does it stay put after you put it back in?

It has tabs with slight lips. The insert just snaps back in place.

I never tried to take mine out, but why would you even want to put it back in? What would the harm be leaving it out? Would you get more air if you left it open?

The mailslot insert is just for looks. Behind it are just a couple of slots to hold the insert trim in place, other than that it's solid and it doesn't help air get in the engine bay.

well, tried the pliers,

couldnt get it out and now i have a set of plier marks on the insert,

anybody know where i can buy the mailslot insert??
