Exclamation Dealer Joyride/road test

O.K. I know this is one of everyones concern....
when your dealer gets your brand new Camaro are they going to go joyride/road test your Camaro?
I have made my dealership put it in writing that I there will be no more than 5miles on my car when I recieve it. Yes, 5! It does not take even that just to test everything out.
The reasons I saying this is because When I got the new Mustang Gt back in 05 (my dealers first one) there was 6 miles on it, the seats leaned back(gangster style), and the radio cranked on some rap station.... Needless to say I flipped out on the dealership manager and they threw in free oil changes for life, two shirts, a hat, and a free detailing. So, I learned my lesson to track your car and be there when it arrives at the dealship!

It's all about having a relationship with your dealer and having some trust in them. If you don't, then you need to explicitly tell them what to do and not to do when your car comes in. Being there when it arrives also helps, but that may not be possible for everyone.

I'm not worried bout this with my dealer. The owner has multiple dealerships and the Chevy store he owns is actually in a town a little over an hour away from us. So when I ordered he said he definately wants me to go down there so that I'm the first to drive it when it shows up. Which gave me even more assurance that they have my best interest in mind.

I've worked with them enough and trust that when they do drive it it'll only be because they have to install my Hurst shifter and will need to take it around the block to test out it's functionality.

Uh, no. At least my dealer won't. They'll get it off the truck, clean it off inside and out, park it, then call me.

Psh, too young to go to juvie.
He obviously knows what he did was wrong.
As soon as he said, "I wanted to do hoodrat stuff" they should have broken out the handcuffs and taken him right to juvie. After his grandma "whipped his behind" of course.

I will be ordering mine, so I'll ask to see it come off the truck (I live right down the street, 2-minute drive). If they can't commit to that, I will demand that when they learn what day it arrives, to call me with that information. That way, I'll know exactly how long it's been in their hands...no punk's gonna go joy riding in my car.

Likewise....and you know like I do that a 5 mile request will be interesting.....I've seen as high as 18 miles on cars when delivered from the haulers.

I'm sure they're not worried about it - they'll pop a 7 mile Camaro on their lot with no issues. It's out of their control.

I am hoping to be at my dealer when in comes in but I am going to give specific instruction to them I do not want my car touched, preped or anything else I want them to leave all the plastic and transport material where it is and I will take it off I have done this befor with cars I ordered the dealers are not happy about it, but tuff I am paying MSRP and/or + for the car I want it my way. Thats probbaly the best way to insure that they are not going to mess with our car.
