So where do you guys n gals download your music from? I was using Limewire, but apparently they're trying to shut them down, so I'm in need of a new program haha. Somewhere free obviously

Its my understanding that the gnutella network (Limewire, Bearshare, Morpheus and a bunch of others) can't be shutdown because its so decentralized. The code is open source and everything is peer-to-peer, so there isn't really anything to shutdown. And even if it does close down, there are a dozen programs on the network, and countless people have the source code so it can be rebuilt very quickly.

On a related note, the RIAA website is offline. Looks like 4chan is hard at work

EDIT: It's back up now.

Gnutella is good, but be careful what you download. A lot of stuff now is very loaded with virus and other crap.

Heck...just get iTunes or buy your music...If you want free music, listen to the radio.

Its all dumb, the hard core big traders are still using FTP and IRC like they always have been, only HS kids use those fileshare programs

I buy my songs from amazon.com. If you decide you want free music you could always get an mp3 download of any youtube video via pwnyoutube.

if you must use p2p, then I suggest Frostwire. I personally dont use p2p. I use a warez site, then rapidshare to download my files, I can dl a Blueray movie in about 10 min.
