Any suggestions on this set up?

Hey guys. So I've been trying to figure out what mods to do, and have been doing alot of research and I think ive figured it out. I am set on the injen intake, and pretty sure I'm gong to go with the MRT 1.0 exhaust, and the BBK LT headers. im worried the drone might be too loud though. Any comments it suggestions? Thanks

Its going to be loud and there will be drone...but since you chose the MRT1 with long tubes I'm hoping you already knew there would be a fair amount of drone.

I've never heard this setup in person so I can't speak for myself, but from all of the feedback Ive read (and Ive read lots! lol)...the MRT 1 itself has some drone. Throwing on LTs will amplify it.

Hopefully it won't bother you. Best place to test out the drone is oh highways going about 70ish, and especially if there is an incline going at that speed and the car 'lugs' a bit going up the hill.

I can guarantee you there will be drone with that set-up. If your worried about drone you'll probably want to go with a more conservative set-up like shorties and a magnaflow or corsa cat-back. I've heard those are more on the quiet side of exhaust set-ups.

I'm not necessarily worried about the drone, I just don't want it to be so overwhelming I can't hear anything else. I used to have a 350z a few years ago with a very loud and raspy exhaust and I didn't even notice anything while driving. what about going with the Mrt 2 instead? Do you think it would make a difference?

It'll be quieter. If you want an exhaust that sounds ungodly at WOT but not a lot a drone you might want to check out the Gibsons.... Of course I'm a little biased...

Yeah I was checking out some of the videos the other day and they sound really good, but I like the sweetness of the mrt exhausts, especially with the longtube headers. I haven't heard any videos of thee gibsons with the headers. I'm trying to get a deep toned sound

Haha... Yah, I don't know if there is anybody out there running headers with the Gibson exhaust. I can tell you though from first hand experiance that they do have a very deep tone to them. Especially at Idle and medium acceleration.

Post us some sound clips. I had a Gibson cat back on a V8 in the past and was pleased with the sound. Haven't heard it our LLT yet.

Then, Quin88, I'd really recommend the MRT 2s over the 1 if you want a deeper tone overall...its still going to be plenty loud! You could probably even throw on a resonated X onto those MRTs and be really loud with LTs lol.....but at least it would lessen the drone. (actually, it would mellow out everything)

Agreed...

Also, might want to check with Blade.. he's running LTs and MRT Ver 2.0...

I'm running MRT Ver 2.0, shorties, resonator delete and rear car deletes... so not quite LT but pretty close...

Those sound really good. Nice and deep. Idk why but i still really like the MRT's. But it would be interesting to see what those Gibsons would sound like with the headers..
