ZL-1 vs SS hood

Is the ZL-1 hood basically the same as the SS but with louvered inserts or does it have a higher profile as well?

Thanks

The profile looks different. Also - the press release says it's raised. Additionally - the CF insert will obviously be different

The hood is made of aluminum... is this the case for the SS as well?

The cowl is definitely raised towards the front of the hood. I can't tell if it is towards the rear...There's the Carbon Fiber Heat-Extractor insert, and I think.....and only thinks since I can't find a good picture....that the flanges where the 'bottom' of the hood meets the 'top' are different from the SS/LT/LS models...

I like the looks of the SS hood infinitely better than the ZL1 hood, but considering what's under the hood of both and the functionality of why the ZL1 hood looks the way it does, I think I could learn to like the ZL1 hood.

I like both hoods... But I just HATE the vent on the SS. Was so happy to see they got rid of that on the ZL1

I like both hoods also but I was wondering where would the water go in the ZL1 extractor hood in a heavy rain storm (drainage). It will be my daily driver and I never owned an extractor hood.

Oh and by the way, I never did mine the mail slot in the SS because it was easy to recognize the difference between the V8 and V6 from a distance.

Therefore, there should be three different front bumper designs, V6, V8 and the ZL1. Just wishful thinking on my part.

Down.

The water will drain down out the bottom of the engine bay. It won't hurt anything.

Thanks Dragoneye for the reply The down answer is amusing.
I have got to look at this hood a lot closer.
I want it to extract the heat but dang, I don't want it to act as cups either.

This site (Long - Live - Camaro5.com) is the best, you guys say some amusing stuff.
This hood will be my first inspection/examination on the ZL1
Excuse my anxious and infatuation with this hood. It' s that aflutter like when a guy will know a girl for the first time.
