My dad is Rick Wagoner, and he says ABL works and will be on camaros from day 1

Am I missing something or does the ABL do more than just make the inside of the car look pretty? Seriously, there is a lot of time and feelings dedicated to this topic and I want to understand why its important to some people. I heard the ABL is going to work but, they are taking away the V8 option and giving us a 4 banger.
