He's certainly served his time and done lotsa good....he really didn't need to come out of retirement and work for GM again in the first place. I'd say he deserves a rest.

But boy is GM losing someone special...:(

Could that be part of the Loan Deal? Key executives retiring or quitting? In my opinion he is the one that should be in charge of GM..

Lutz has been the most positive, dynamic, influential, and respected product leader at GM since Harley Earl.

He will be sorely missed, and I hope he has groomed protogees with his thought process to succeed him.

I hope I'm wrong, but I fear the bean counters will prevail without Lutz's stern force and imposing shadow.
