I SWEAR THE 5TH GEN CAMARO HAS THE WORST PAINT JOB I HAVE EVER WITNESSED ON A CAR .. EVERY TIME I LOOK AT THE CAR THERE IS ANOTHER LITTLE CICRLE SCRATCH FROM DRIVING, A SCRATCH, OR SOME TYPE OF MARK .. IF YOUR PARKING AND YOU EVEN LIGHTLY TAP A BUMBER YOU HAVE A NOTICEABLE SCRATCH .. ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR CARS ON THE ROAD TODAY AND GM CAN'T EVEN GIVE US A ******** DECENT PAINT JOB?? **** YOU GM

i know certain colors from gm are softer than others.. yellow being one of those.. used to have an 01 s-10. the yellow scratched like NO other.

besides, doing a good clay/swirl haze remove and a wax will kill a lot of the damage to the clearcoat/paint

Yeah, the paint is a weak spot on the car and you can expect to repaint in about 5 years. That said, it's a beast. From what I hear, it isn't all GM, it's that auto paint now has to be water-based rather than oil based.

Now I dont know if its because of the paint but it seems like these cars get dirty quick!My RJT gets dirty 10min after I leave the car wash and its annoying!My cousin has a black camaro and the same thing happens with his!

no.. its the paint... i have never had a problem like this with any of my cars .. chrystler 300c and dodge charger RT .. never .. i don't even remember having a scratch on either one and i drove them a lot .. then i buy a 2011 camaro and within a year i feel i need a new paint job ..

The paint on modern cars is covered in a lot of forums, having the weaker paint is sort of a price to pay for keeping camaro cost down(everybody has to be green, thx epa :p)

My camaro has original color code, but has been repainted and redone with a strong clear coat. I am just now ready to wax it after 2 months, there's no scratches or anything on this paint atm... Ill post pics for you after I wax if you're interested.

WAX YOUR CAR. You think it's going to take care of itself and always look nice? I have a BLACK Camaro and it always looks like a brand new paintjob...I had the car back from summer of 09 too.
