Not practical but possable. Tranny side is no issue. However, front side of motor is a problem. The crank snout is longer so you cannot use Camaro accessories on LS7 crank pulley. You must cut the nose of the crank. The LS7 uses a drysump oil system and Camaro uses an oil pan wet sump system. The additiional scavenge pump is driven off the front of the crank hense its longer nose. No hole for a dipstick. Different oil pan. Different heads and intake manifold. Having said all this I have the LS7 motor in my Camaro so it is possable. Ha Ha I am using ported LS3 heads and intake manifold. Much less hastle and cost to just forge and build a 416 CI LS3 motor using many parts you already have.

What not go with the LS9. It is a 6.2L also. I wonder if it is the same block.

LSX motors are very interchangeable, just like your good old chevy small block. So to change your L99 to an LS7 like performer doesn't take much. A stroker kit and some ported heads will get you there power wise very easily.
