Does your Whipple rub your hood blanket?

Noticed today that my whipple is rubbing on my hood blanket a little. It has kinda of left some black Marks on the polished whipple. Just curious if anyone else has run into this.

Had anyone just taken off the blanket. I am sure it is hit or miss if it is painted underneath. I have. Always heard leaving blankets on helps from damaging paint on hood from increased in engine temps. Not realty sure though.

I have to look at my instructions now because I missed this step.

Mine only rubs on the intake coupler. I have the stock intake still.

I don't think so. I just polished the spots off with some old mothers metal polish.

I also noticed that the intercooler tank cap had actually perforated the hood blanket all the way through. I just removed the blanket and of course it is not pained under there. Gotta love the fact to save $1.00 worth of paint GM didn't paint under it. Oh well I will either paint it or cut the bad sections out of the hood blanket and put it back on. Unless I can find any other ideas?

One thing to consider replacing it with is adhesive backed foil faced underhood insulation. Should be thinner and will conform to the hood perfectly.
