T2 Bumblebee Hood - Cross your t's and dot the i's!

I have yet to find a hood that matches the T2 Bumblebee hood EXACTLY. The center rise is either too high, the ram air is too far forward, the ram air looks way too far off in design, etc...

If anyone has seen an EXACT aftermarket replica, please post and stop me from going on...

With that said, i'm considering modifying the oem hood to match the T2 Bumblebee. If everything goes well and the finished product is well liked, I might sell them. Correct me if my eyes aren't what they use to be but isnt the Bumblebee hood a modified oem hood? Here's some different angles of the bumblebee hood:

OEM Hood:

What do my fellow Camaro friends think?

The SLP looks right, but they don't sell it except on one of their cars. Too bad for us. Everybody keeps adding height to the center of the hood when they make a hood like this, screwing up the BB look. If you can reproduce an oem hood to look like the BB hood, I'd be interested.

Something I just noticed is that the center rise of BB stays at a consistent height until it reaches the scoop. Oem hood slowly gets thinner.

Also the second BB picture I listed is High-def

The Sinister hood on partsforyourcar.com is very close. Closest I've seen. I'd love a replica of the BB hood too. I've just about settled on the Sinister hood, unless someone makes a replica.

That hood is very close indeed. I'd actually consider it a BB hood if they fixed the ramp going into the vent, got rid of the mountain on the ramp and fixed the grill on the ram air. Good find

The hood looks good but has some similar problems that keep it from being a BB hood. The center-rise may be an inch taller, the center-rise is to a point and not rounded, the ramp leading into the ram air is too steep, and the grill is a bit off but still looks good.

Nice hood but its no BB hood

what about this one? it looks very close, closer than sinister's, i think. a little tweak here and there i think it would totally work.

The one on the ZL cars is very similar, but you would have to buy the car to get one of those.

I really liked the seibon hood, but there are a few things keeping it from being a BB hood. The ram air is slightly too far back and the ramp leading into the ram air is too steep. I've decided im going to take this project on. I'm going to try to acquire an oem hood from a wrecking yard. Wish me luck in finding an undamaged hood! I'll post pic updates every now and then
