my average speed read 21, this is not acceptable...like..really...13 to the gallon....ive seen v8s get 10x more than this crap...and another thing, that i need to ask is this, when ever i filled my car up, i used to get 300mpg till empty, now when i fill it up the most i can get is 270, some times lower...and ideal or reasoning for that?

Just a reference, My SS has 5K on it, Average speed is 42.2. My MPG since new is 21.3.
I do zero burnouts, but drive with a mission.

Shouldn't the sixers get close to 25-30?

That's why, you're obviously sitting in traffic all the time. Think about what happens in traffic; you idle and you constantly go through the gears. Idle wastes gas by just sitting and not moving. Shifting in city driving puts you in the high RPM range where you burn more gas. For comparison my 1SS has a lifetime average of 16.3 MPG, the only reason is that the average speed is 31.5 MPH. In my DD I actually get over the EPA rating because I'm in the constant sweet spot of the rev band for fuel economy for a lifetime average of 49 MPH through 34,000 miles. Bottom line you won't see an improvement until you get more freeway in your driving schedule.

Check your MPG the old fashioned way and see if it matches what the car is saying.
