Black smoke billowing from left exhaust pipe?
I'm under an oil consumption test because the oil seems to be disappearing really quickly.
I also had someone take a photo of my car yesterday driving and there are billows of black smoke coming out of only the LEFT exhaust pipe. Could they be related? what could be the issue? Thanks!

2010 Camaro SS modified extensively. I stretched the body to make it a 4 door, but I swapped in the 3.6L DI V6 for fuel economy. Then I picked up a corvette body around the V8. I also swapped the body for a C2 Z28. (In short I traded it for three cars, a Corvette Z06r, a C2 Camaro Z28, and a Cadillac CTS Summer Performance package 3.6L DI with Aisin 6spd.)

Not sure.....haven't heard of this happening in the V6 yet, but I would check in the V8 section those guys might have seen this before

The smoke from the drivers side sounds like a piston/ring/cylinder issue to me. A leak down test will need to be performed to determine which one. Oil smoke is generally blue/black but the cats will burn alot of it.

Tracy is correct, not a good sign. How long has this been going on? How many miles on the car?

Oops... Not sure how this got in the V6 section... Probably because we have a V6 and a V8 and I forget where I am sometimes! Haha... This is on our SS.
Well I've been having oil consumption issues the last 10k miles. Just noticed the smoke yesterday! Only happens at high RPMS under load!
